Women’s empowerment group, Ladies on A Mission (LOAM), recently honored 17 women from Linden for their outstanding service to the community.

In a gesture aimed at boosting morale, LOAM executed this initiative last week, surprising and delighting the recipients with certificates of recognition.

Camille Cummings, a Founder Member of LOAM, explained the motivation behind the initiative, stating they wanted to honor women, particularly those in the market, for their contributions.

The initiative coincided with International Women’s Day and sought to acknowledge women who have positively impacted their communities.

Among those honored were Isola Amsterdam, Ann Leacock, Marclyn Simon, Cleopatra Duke, and Marva Benjamin.

Cummings highlighted LOAM’s dedication to empowering women and girls in Linden, noting that they are committed to organizing initiatives that uplift and inspire.

She announced an upcoming women empowerment conference that will include an arts and crafts exhibition featuring local women entrepreneurs.

The event aims to provide a platform for networking and showcasing the talents and achievements of women in the community.
