The Ministry of Labour and Manpower Planning has officially launched the Occupational Safety and Health Village and Job Fair on Main Street, Georgetown.

This event is part of the month-long Occupational Safety and Health activities.

Over 32 booths have set up along Main Street, advertising jobs in a range of areas.

Representatives from several agencies, such as AGM and NewRest Guyana encouraged persons to come out and engage with their teams to explore available opportunities.

NewRest HR Assistant, Nickera Ramlall, said, “We are catering and hospitality company. We cater for offshore clients, the services we provide would be housekeeping, cooks and baker so if you’re interested you can always visit our booth here on main street.”

Minister of Labour and Manpower Planning, Keoma Griffith during his remarks at today’s opening is urging citizens to take advantage of these opportunities.

The last five years we have created over 1000 jobs and every job represents an opportunity, an opportunity not just for transformation but to bring transformation to the lives of other persons. And I really trust that with this initiative here today that job seekers will come and take advantage of all of the opportunities here,” he said.

The Occupation Safety and Health Village and Job Fair continue tomorrow, April 30, 2026.
