By Tyriq Walters

Kumar Bishundial, a dedicated coach from Guyana, recently attained his Cricket West Indies (CWI) Level 2 coaching certification, marking a significant milestone in his coaching journey.

Having been involved in coaching for several years, the 34-year-old Bishundial expressed his deep love for the game of cricket and his passion for working with young talents, particularly on the east coast where he noticed a lack of coaching support for budding players.

His desire to nurture the talents of these youngsters and help them develop new skills inspired him to pursue coaching at a higher level.

In a conversation with NCN, Bishundial emphasized the importance of coaching not only in enhancing players’ skills on the field but also in fostering their personal growth off the field.

He highlighted the significance of creating a supportive and conducive environment for young athletes to thrive, both in their performances and in their overall development as individuals.

Bishundial’s coaching prowess was further demonstrated when he served as the manager of the triumphant Under 15 Demerara team, which emerged victorious in the Guyana Cricket Board’s U15 inter-county tournament.

His success in coaching and managing young talents has fueled his ambition to continue sharing his knowledge and expertise with aspiring cricketers across various locations in Region Four.

As he embarks on this new chapter as a CWI Level 2 certified coach, Bishundial remains committed to nurturing the next generation of cricketing stars in Guyana.

His dedication to the sport and his unwavering passion for coaching serve as an inspiration to young coaches in the country, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and make a positive impact on the future of cricket in Guyana.
