Kross Kolor Records Launches ‘Producers Incubation Programme’ to Foster Youth Talent in Music Production

Kross Kolor Records, a prominent recording studio, has initiated the ‘Producers Incubation Programme’, a six-month endeavor aimed at nurturing the talents of fifteen young individuals in music production and audio engineering.

Burchmore Simon, the CEO of Kross Kolor Records, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to give back to the industry.

The programme, made possible through a grant from the Caricom Project ‘Creative Caribbean’, holds the promise of equipping the top five participants with home studios to further their music production capabilities.

Furthermore, this initiative offers a lifetime partnership with Kross Kolor Records, allowing participants to license their work to musicians worldwide, ensuring they receive their due royalties.

The Creative Caribbean Initiative, operating within CARICOM, not only generates employment opportunities but also aids in market accessibility and capacity building at the grassroots level.

Dr. Hilary Brown, Caricom’s Programme Manager for Culture and Community, commended the initiative for its tangible impact on youth advancement and employment within the creative industry.

The training curriculum encompasses areas such as piano, audio engineering, equipment usage, and setup techniques.

Additionally, six participants will enjoy a lifetime collaboration with Kross Kolor Records, along with affiliation to the Performing Rights Organisation (PRO) for safeguarding their work and earning royalties.

This Programme is a collaborative effort involving CARICOM, UNESCO, and the University of the West Indies, and has been endorsed by the Ministry of Education’s Allied Arts Department.
