The Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) has officially launched its Children’s Cricket Programme, aimed at providing young aspiring cricketers with the opportunity to develop their skills.
Sponsored by KFC Guyana, the programme targets children aged 5 to 11 and will offer sessions every Saturday morning.
GCC President Johnathon Yearwood, speaking at the launch, expressed gratitude for KFC’s sponsorship, which has enabled the club to offer this initiative.
Yearwood emphasized the programme’s goal of nurturing young cricket talent, noting that sessions will begin at 8:00 a.m. each Saturday.
The initiative is designed to provide structured cricket training to the children, allowing them to learn and practice the fundamentals of the sport.
Yearwood also highlighted the potential of the programme to expand, hoping that it will inspire future cricket stars from Georgetown and beyond.
KFC Marketing Director Sadia Strand, also present at the launch, expressed the company’s pride in being associated with the programme.
She reiterated KFC’s commitment to supporting youth development through sports and expressed excitement about seeing the young talents grow as they engage with cricket.
The KFC Mini Zinger Cricket Programme promises to be a valuable opportunity for young enthusiasts to immerse themselves in the sport and develop their skills under the guidance of experienced coaches.
