The KFC Elite Cup tournament by the Guyana Football Federation is set to conclude with an exciting final tonight at the Police Sport Club Ground at Eve Leary.

The championship match will feature the unbeaten Western Tiger against the Guyana Defence Force, both vying for the coveted 1.5 million dollars prize and bragging rights.

Competition Director Troy Peters assured that all necessary preparations have been made for the smooth execution of the final.

Highlighting the high level of play throughout the tournament, Peters expects an intense battle tonight, considering the substantial prize at stake.

The finalists, Guyana Defence Force and Western Tiger, emerged as the top elite league clubs from season 5, promising a thrilling showdown.

The Guyana Defence Force demonstrated dominance in the competition, securing a flawless 15 points by defeating Santos, Fruta Conquerors, and Milerock.

Meanwhile, the Western Tigers, with only one loss, accumulated 12 points with victories over Den Amstel, Victoria Kings, and Ann’s Grove.

The football action kicks off at 18:00 hours with the third-place playoff between Guyana Police Force and Buxton United, competing for half a million dollars, with $250,000 for the runner-up.

The highly anticipated final will commence at 20:00 hours, featuring a substantial $1.5 million prize for the winner and $1 million for the second-place team.
