Junior Jags Ready for Concacaf U-17 Men’s Championship Qualifiers in Costa Rica

Guyana’s Junior Men’s Football team, the Junior Jags, is all set for the Concacaf U-17 Men’s Championship qualifiers in Costa Rica.

Head Coach Marco Bonofiglio has expressed confidence in the squad’s readiness as they prepare to begin their campaign on Friday evening.

The team arrived in Costa Rica on Wednesday, and Coach Bonofiglio led the players in their final practice session before the competition.

The coach shared his thoughts on the team’s progress and their preparation for the upcoming matches.

The Junior Jags are placed in Group B, alongside teams from the British Virgin Islands, Saint Maarten, Trinidad and Tobago, and the host nation Costa Rica.

Coach Bonofiglio emphasized the high expectations for the team and believes that the squad is well-equipped to make a strong showing at the tournament.

The Junior Jags’ first match will be against rivals Trinidad and Tobago, marking the start of their journey in the qualifiers.

The 2025 Concacaf U-17 Men’s Qualifiers, which run from February 7 to 16, will determine the eight nations that will advance to the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
