Dr. Gonsalves emphasized the commitment of both Guyana and Venezuela to engage in dialogue and pursue peaceful resolutions.
The statement highlights that in the event of any incident, the two states will promptly communicate with each other, the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), CELAC, and the President of Brazil.
This communication aims to contain, reverse, and prevent the recurrence of any potential conflict.
The Joint Declaration also mentions the establishment of a joint commission between Guyana and Venezuela.
