Briton John’s remarkable streak of victories continues as he clinched yet another road race title, this time triumphing in the Burnham Memorial Cycle Road Race.
The event, held in honor of the late Forbes Burnham and sponsored by the Burnham Foundation, saw intense competition and thrilling performances.
John, fresh off his recent win in the Beacon Cafe Paceline cycle road race, showcased his exceptional fitness and determination to maintain his unbeaten record.
The race spanned from Carifesta Avenue to Belfield, East Coast Demerara, covering a challenging distance of 34 miles before concluding at the Ocean View Medical.
Clocking in at an impressive 1 hour, 4 minutes, and 56 seconds, John dominated the field, leaving his closest competitors trailing behind.
Curtis Dey secured second place with a time of 1 hour, 6 minutes, and 24 seconds, while Robin Persaud claimed third place, crossing the finish line in 1 hour, 7 minutes, and 59 seconds.
In the junior category, Alexander Leung emerged victorious, followed by Alex Newton in second place and Daniel Jiang in third.
The masters categories also witnessed fierce competition, with Robin Persaud clinching the Masters 40 and over title, and Ian Jackson securing the Masters over 50 crown.
Overall, the event showcased the remarkable talent and dedication of cyclists in Guyana, with participants displaying exceptional skill and determination throughout the race.
