Jamaican Minister Robert Morgan, leading a delegation from his country, has expressed admiration for the media landscape in Guyana during his visit to both private and public media entities.

Minister Morgan, who serves within the Office of the Prime Minister in Jamaica, commended the quality of work showcased by Guyana’s media sector, highlighting the professionalism and dedication of staff, as well as the focus on technological advancement and development.

In an interview during his tour of the National Communications Network (NCN), Minister Morgan conveyed his satisfaction with the facilities and personnel he encountered, emphasizing the potential for collaboration and exchange of ideas between Guyana and Jamaica in the realms of media, mass communication, and public affairs.

He announced plans to sign a memorandum of understanding with Guyana’s Minister within the Office of the Prime Minister, Kwame McCoy, aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two countries in these areas.

As part of his visit, Minister Morgan will participate in activities commemorating World Press Freedom Day, underscoring the significance of a free and vibrant media landscape in both Guyana and Jamaica.
