The Guyana Civil Aviation Authority will work with JAGS Aviation to ensure its new Bell 407 helicopter meets all safety requirements before entering commercial operation.

The aircraft, unveiled at the BK International hangar at Ogle Airport today, represents an investment of more than one billion dollars in Guyana’s aviation sector.
Minister of Public Works Deodat Indar says while the investment signals growing confidence in the aviation industry, safety remains a priority as the sector expands.
He says the Civil Aviation Authority must ensure all requirements are met before the helicopter is cleared for commercial operations.
“I’m asking the GCAA to make sure that everything is done in an expeditious manner, making sure that all of the criteria are satisfied so that we can go into commercial operation as quickly as possible,” he said.
Director General of the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority, Lieutenant Colonel (Ret’d) Egbert Field, says the authority will work with the company to ensure the necessary requirements are completed.
“The Civil Aviation Authority will work with Jags to ensure that they complete all the requirements to bring this helicopter into full operation,” he assured.
