The recently concluded International Building Expo 2024, held at the National Stadium in Providence, has been hailed as a major success by Minister within the Ministry of Housing and Water, Susan Rodrigues.
The Expo, which showcased cutting-edge innovations from both local and international companies, exceeded expectations, drawing tens of thousands of attendees.
With an estimated 400 exhibitors, including 27 international companies from countries such as China, Italy, India, and various parts of Africa, the event provided a platform for businesses to display their latest advancements in construction, technology, and infrastructure.
The presence of key local entities like Macorp, which ran special promotions, and GBTI, which launched a new account tailored for the event, added significant value for the Guyanese public.
Minister Rodrigues expressed satisfaction with the quality of services offered by the exhibitors, noting that both the private sector and international participants responded to the call to educate the public on transformational projects currently underway in Guyana.
These projects include new water treatment plants, highways, and ports, which align with the government’s broader vision for national development.
The small business section of the Expo saw overwhelming success, with many vendors selling out their products multiple times and needing to restock throughout the event.
Looking ahead to 2025, Minister Rodrigues emphasized the need to continue building on this year’s success, highlighting the importance of ongoing collaboration and innovation to further advance the nation’s infrastructure and economy.
