The Institute of Private Enterprise Development (IPED) is set to expand its services with the opening of a new branch on the Soesdyke-Linden Highway.
This announcement was made by Robert Williams, the Business Development and Marketing Manager, during an exclusive interview with NCN Business.
Williams shared that IPED had a successful year, with a significant increase in the number of clients served, surpassing 4,800.
The institute also met its financial targets for the year.
He emphasized that IPED continues to innovate and create opportunities that improve the lives of people, particularly through fostering entrepreneurship and sustainability.
The organization’s mission is to provide capacity building, technical advice, and support to entrepreneurs across Guyana.
IPED has recently launched two new products aimed at promoting entrepreneurial development.
One of these products is a skill-based entrepreneurial development program that offers grants to young people who have obtained certification in technical fields.
Recognizing the rapid growth of Guyana’s economy and the expanding need for technical skills, IPED is responding by helping technical school graduates to transition from education into the workforce.
Institutions such as the Guyana School of Agriculture (GSA), NAREI, GTI, New Amsterdam Technical Institute, and Carnegie School of Home Economics are preparing students for the growing technical services industry in the country.
IPED’s expansion and these new initiatives reflect its ongoing commitment to supporting sustainable development and fostering entrepreneurship across the nation.
