Innovate Guyana Launches ‘Buy Local With Bounty’ Initiative

The ‘Buy Local at Bounty’ initiative, developed by Innovate Guyana, has been launched at Bounty Supermarket’s Stabroek Branch.

The objective is to promote and showcase locally produced goods alongside regional and international products, and the campaign is scheduled to run from July 15 to September 30. It is also supported by the Economic Development Fund Programme.

The initiative aims to highlight the skills of local agro-processors and their products, and it is expected to generate sales and help local businesses scale their operations, ultimately creating job opportunities and promoting the growth of local businesses in Guyana.

Bounty Supermarket’s Stabroek Branch Manager, Ewart Chester, expressed the company’s commitment to supporting local producers and providing them with a presence on supermarket shelves.

The products featured in the campaign come from various regions, including Linden, Essequibo, and the Rupununi.

Each week, 12 different producers will display their products as part of the initiative.

The ‘Buy Local With Bounty’ campaign has gained collaboration from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Lab.
