Infinity Tech emerged as the winner of the Office of the Prime Minister’s Innovation Challenge, surpassing 12 other teams to secure the top spot.
As the winners, Infinity Tech will have the opportunity to develop their concept into a scheduling application.
The team highlighted that their application aims to promote collaboration among stakeholders and has the potential to be utilized in both the private and public sectors.
The second prize in the competition was awarded to Caltech Guyana, while Team Logic claimed the third position.
The combined value of the top three prizes is $1.5 million.
Prime Minister Mark Phillips extended his congratulations to the winners and expressed appreciation for the efforts of all participants.
“From the beginning of this year’s competition, we witnessed … as each of you showcased creativity, problem-solving skills, and technological skills… there was no shortage of dedication in these efforts,’ he said.
The 2023 Innovation Challenge was sponsored exclusively by SBM Offshore Guyana, the builder, and operator of the floating production storage and offloading units producing oil off the country’s coast.
The competition aims to showcase the technological innovation skills of local tech enthusiasts.
The competition ran from July 7 to July 9 under the theme “Transitioning through Innovation.”
