Preparations for the inaugural international business conference are well underway, with significant progress reported by the Chairman of the Suriname Guyana Chamber of Commerce (SGCC), Dr. Vishnu Doerga.
The conference, set to take place from October 15-17 at the Marriott Hotel, aims to facilitate closed transactions and foster joint collaborations.
The event, under the theme ‘Guyana: The Gateway to Many Opportunities,’ will feature key international firms exploring potential deals and partnerships.
This year’s focus is on manufacturing, with discussions ongoing with the Caribbean Manufacturers Association.
The conference will highlight Guyana’s diverse raw materials and the sector’s anticipated growth, bolstered by plans to reduce energy costs.
The conference will also address non-tariff barriers affecting the export of Guyanese products to Caricom markets and beyond.
The SGCC, in collaboration with the Guyana Manufacturing & Services Association, is working to ensure a comprehensive examination of these issues.
Dr. Doerga emphasized that the conference will provide numerous opportunities for local businesses to engage with international counterparts, setting the stage for future growth and collaboration.
