Inaugural Burnham Drive Fiesta in Linden (Michael Charles).

The inaugural Burnham Drive Fiesta brought life to the Wismar shore over the weekend, serving as a catalyst for domestic tourism and fostering social development in the Christianburg community.

Organized by the Linden Mayor and Town Council, in collaboration with local businesses and community members, the event was a testament to the vibrant spirit of the community.

Linden Mayor Sharma Solomon emphasized the significance of the event, stating that it truly embodied the Burnham Drive spirit, showcasing the potential for growth and prosperity in the region.

As part of the festivities, the Linden Mayor and Town Council launched a riverfront beautification project, targeting six areas for enhancement between Sunflower Street and Christianburg. This initiative includes the planting of fruit trees, as well as the installation of lights and benches, enhancing the area’s aesthetic appeal.

The success of the Burnham Drive Fiesta has already generated interest from other communities looking to host similar activities, indicating a potential for future events of this nature.

The event featured a range of activities including boat races and river tours, providing entertainment for attendees. Former Mayor of Bartica, Gilford Marshall, and visitor Dr. Winston Lynch expressed their excitement and praised the event’s impact on the community.

Organizers, including Mayor Solomon, are hopeful that the Burnham Drive Fiesta will become a regular occurrence, not only providing opportunities for socialization but also contributing to the growth of tourism and the local economy in Christianburg.
