Approximately 900 residents of Kamwatta in Region One now have improved access to potable water following the commissioning of a new 25-million-dollar water supply system by Housing and Water Minister Collin Croal.

The new water distribution system includes a newly drilled well, costing 15 million dollars.

An additional 7 million dollars was spent on the installation and distribution network, the photovoltaic pumping system, and the construction of the well fence.

Minister Croal stated that further efforts will be made to supply water to about ten percent of the villagers who currently live some distance from the system.

The government plans to install more pipes to extend the water supply to these households, with assistance from the village council for pipe installation.

Minister Croal assured residents that the government is committed to ensuring complete access to potable water across the region.

He emphasized that by the end of the year, at least 90% of the region should have access to potable water.

Additionally, the minister assured the community that other infrastructural developments are planned for the near future.
