After experiencing back-to-back losses in the group stage to Zimbabwe and Netherlands, resulting in the squad taking zero points into the Super Six Stage, the West Indies’ White Ball Captain, Shai Hope has asserted that the squad must remain focused if they are to turn things around in the upcoming tournament.
This assertion was made during a recent press conference, where Hope posited that while there is no excuse for the poor showing so far, the team must have the right mindset going forward if there is to be a positive outcome.
The West Indies unit is now faced with the uphill challenge of having to win every match of the Super Six Stage, as well as a hope for losses for key rivals so they can qualify for the World Cup. Windies return to the field on Saturday, July 1 to take on Scotland with the match bowling off at 3am.
