In New Amsterdam, Berbice, the police are working diligently to identify skeletal remains discovered in a clump of bushes adjacent to The Esplanade Park.

The finding was made by an excavator operator who was conducting land clearing in the area.

Regional Commander Shivpersaud Bacchus, present at the scene, informed reporters that upon receiving the report, he and his team swiftly responded and confirmed the discovery.

They secured the area and commenced retrieving the remains.

Commander Bacchus revealed that the investigators uncovered a skull and other remains suspected to be human.

At this stage, they are unable to determine the gender due to the condition of the remains.

Additionally, a bag containing clothing was found near the remains, indicating possible belongings of the individual.

The scene suggests that the body had been at the location for an extended period, possibly two or three years, given the absence of marrow bone and skin.

Some clothing items also showed signs of blood.

Investigations into the discovery are ongoing as the authorities work to unravel the circumstances surrounding this mysterious find.
