The Ministry of Human Services and Social Security, through its Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Policy Unit, conducted a specialized training session on Thursday focused on therapeutic responses to intimate partner violence.
The workshop was held in collaboration with two U.S.-based experts—Dr. Charles Frazier, President and Clinical Coordinator for Domestic Violence at Radiance Innovative Services, and Dr. Sursatie Frazier, President and Clinical Director of Women’s Family Health and Wellness.
The session highlighted advanced research and treatment approaches aimed at improving support for survivors of intimate partner violence.
Dr. Charles Frazier underscored the importance of creating safe family environments, while Dr. Sursatie Frazier shared insights from research on the long-term impact of intimate partner violence, particularly on women with histories of trauma from childhood and past relationships.
The training was tailored for social workers within the ministry, including probation officers and case managers, with the goal of strengthening their skills and capacity to assist vulnerable individuals.
The initiative reflects the government’s continued efforts to address domestic violence and enhance support services for affected communities.
