At the 2024 International Building Expo, the Ministry of Housing and Water outlined its ongoing efforts to empower Guyanese by expanding homeownership opportunities and preparing citizens to participate in the nation’s modern development.

Ministers Collin Croal and Susan Rodrigues reviewed progress in the housing sector since the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) returned to office in 2020, with a focus on enabling inclusive growth across the country.

Since 2020, approximately 34,000 housing lots have been allocated in every region of Guyana, aligning with the government’s broader development vision.

Minister Susan Rodrigues emphasized the importance of ensuring that all citizens, regardless of background, have access to opportunities and can realize their full potential.

During the expo, Minister Collin Croal announced that 1,730 certificates of title would be distributed to new homeowners over the next two days.

He also noted that the government is on track to allocate over 40,000 house lots by the end of 2024, with more than 2,000 lots being distributed during the expo by the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CHPA).

The International Building Expo serves as a platform for showcasing development opportunities and engaging stakeholders across various sectors, further advancing the nation’s housing and infrastructure growth.
