In an exhilarating match at the National Gymnasium, Shamar Hope’s impressive performance, scoring 21 points, propelled the Lamaha Park/Springs Pepsi Sonics to a resounding victory over the Leonora D-Up Rising Stars in the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) Under 23 club championship.

The game on Wednesday night showcased the dominance of the Pepsi Sonics, who secured a commanding 98-52 win against the Rising Stars.

From the outset, the Sonics displayed their superiority, dominating the first quarter with a score of 27-10.

They continued their relentless performance in the second quarter, outscoring their opponents 23-12, ending the first half with a comfortable lead of 50-22.

Maintaining their momentum, the Lamaha Park/Springs Pepsi Sonics continued their impressive performance in the third and fourth quarters, scoring 24 points each, while the Rising Stars managed a combined 30 points throughout the match.

Hope’s outstanding contribution was complemented by Marvin and Kevin Mars, who each scored 20 points for the Sonics.

On the opposing side, Shaquan Archer led the Rising Stars with 16 points.

Following the match, Captain Marvin Mars expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance, attributing their success to teamwork and strategic adjustments made during the game.

He also expressed confidence in the team’s ability to perform well throughout the championship.

In response, Captain Shaquan Archer acknowledged the youth and inexperience of the Rising Stars, expressing optimism about the team’s potential for improvement in future games.

In another match, the Cummingsburg Bounty Colts secured a victory against the Stabroek Eagles with a score of 68-49.
