During an International Women’s Day activity organized by the Berbice Chamber of Commerce, sixty women from various sectors in Region Six were recognized for their significant contributions to nation-building.
The event, graced by First Lady Arya Ali, aimed to celebrate the achievements of resilient women and embrace the theme of International Women’s Day.
Samantha Reid, President of the Berbice Chamber of Commerce, emphasized that the recognition not only applauds the accomplishments of these women but also underscores the importance of inclusivity and equity in fostering a prosperous future for all.
Reid urged the awardees to continue demonstrating passion and resilience in the face of challenges and to actively contribute to the growth and development of their communities and the nation as a whole.
In her address, Denise Bachan, a representative from Scotiabank, echoed Reid’s sentiments, emphasizing the significance of women as agents of change and the importance of supporting one another.
First Lady Arya Ali participated in the event, assisting in the distribution of awards to the honorees.
