The West Indies Women were once again outclassed by India, losing the final match of their three-match One Day International series in Vadodara by 5 wickets, with 130 balls to spare.
This defeat completed a clean sweep for India, who had already won the first two matches by 211 and 115 runs respectively.
Batting first after winning the toss, the West Indies Women struggled on a pitch favorable for batting.
Openers Qiana Joseph and Hayley Matthews were dismissed for ducks, and despite valuable contributions from Shemaine Campbelle (46) and Chinelle Henry (61), the team failed to build significant partnerships.
Aaliyah Alleyne (21) was the only other batter to reach double figures, as the team was bowled out for 162 runs.
India’s Deepti Sharma was the star with the ball, claiming 6 wickets for 31 runs, supported by Renuka Singh who took 4 for 29.
In response, India faced early setbacks, losing Smriti Mandhana cheaply.
However, cameos from Harmanpreet Kaur (32), Jemimah Rodrigues (29), Deepti Sharma (39), and Richa Ghosh (23) ensured they comfortably chased down the target.
The West Indies bowlers, including Deandra Dottin, Aaliyah Alleyne, Hayley Matthews, Afy Fletcher, and Karishma Ramharack, each claimed a wicket, but it was not enough to prevent the defeat.
The series loss capped a tough tour for the West Indies Women, who had already been defeated 2-1 in the T20 series earlier in the tour.
