GYMMAF Makes a Mark at TNTMMAF Tournament

Guyana Mixed Martial Arts Federation (GYMMAF) achieved successful gold medal performances at the Ruff & Tuff and Trinidad and Tobago Mixed Martial Arts Federations Regional Invitational. The gold medalists were Anevia Frank, Carl Ramsey, Shenese Bobb, and Ijaz Cave, with victories in their respective weight classes.

GYMMAF President Gavin Singh expressed his satisfaction with the athletes’ performance, acknowledging their dedication and drive to elevate the sport to new heights.

The victorious fighters secured their wins through knockout victories. Anevia Frank, competing under the Fight Central banner, made a successful debut by defeating Kaitlyn Gookool. Experienced fighter Ijaz Cave emerged victorious against Denote Edwards, while Pan American silver medalists Shenese Bobb and Carl Ramsey defeated Shekinah Cedeno and Daniel Lee Sho-Ling, respectively.

Following the tournament, 20 coaches from six Caribbean countries participated in an IMMAF Coach Education and Certification Course. The course aimed to equip coaches with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively train athletes, contributing to the further development of the sport.

The countries represented in the course were Trinidad, Saint Lucia, Guyana, Antigua, Suriname, and Grenada.

President Gavin Singh highlighted the importance of such programs in fostering the growth and progress of mixed martial arts in the region.
