Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) celebrated its 22nd Anniversary with an Awards and Prize Giving Ceremony, honoring over fifty employees for their exceptional dedication and service to the utility company over the past two decades.
The ceremony, held on Friday evening, aimed to commend employees for their outstanding contributions to the growth and success of GWI.
Shaik Baskh, Chief Executive Officer of GWI, emphasized the importance of recognizing and rewarding hardworking employees who have played pivotal roles in building the utility company.
Baskh also highlighted the significant progress made by GWI over the years, with major infrastructure projects underway across the country in 2024, reflecting the company’s commitment to providing reliable water services to communities nationwide.
Minister of Housing and Water, Collin Croal, delivered the keynote address, commending the awardees for their role in driving positive change within GWI over the past two decades.
He acknowledged the challenges faced in ensuring access to clean water but praised the remarkable strides made by GWI in addressing these challenges.
Despite the ongoing challenges, Croal emphasized the continuous efforts and significant achievements made by GWI in its mission to provide clean and safe water to all Guyanese citizens.
Among the awardees were employees who have dedicated forty years of service to GWI, reflecting their longstanding commitment and loyalty to the organization.
The ceremony not only celebrated the achievements of the awardees but also served as a testament to the collective efforts of GWI employees in fulfilling the company’s mission of ensuring access to clean and safe water for all Guyanese.
