GuyExpo Returns: Showcasing Guyana’s Vibrant Industries

After a seven-year hiatus, GuyExpo has made a grand return, opening its doors to over 250 booths and a myriad of attractions at the Sophia Exhibition Centre.

The event, organized under the theme “Transforming Guyana Through Investment, Innovation, and Resilience,” aims to showcase the diverse strengths of Guyana’s businesses, ranging from macro to small, medium, and large enterprises.

The Minister of Tourism, Industry, and Commerce, Oneidge Walrond, emphasized the significance of GuyExpo as a platform to highlight Guyana’s potential as a food-secure nation capable of supplying the region.

Minister Walrond encouraged both Guyanese residents and visitors to explore the exhibits and take pride in the offerings available.

Prime Minister Mark Phillips, who is currently performing the duties of the President, expressed the government’s determination to stimulate growth within the business sector.

The Expo serves as a vital initiative to foster economic development and showcase the country’s potential for investment and innovation.

GuyExpo, known as Guyana’s largest trade and investment exposition, offers more than just a platform for agriculture and petroleum industries.

The event features a diverse array of booths, a kid’s zone, a food court, and entertainment options.

Scheduled events include a chutney night, local artist showcases, and steel pan entertainment, providing a mix of cultural experiences.

The return of GuyExpo marks a commitment to promoting economic resilience and growth within Guyana, creating opportunities for businesses of all sizes to thrive.

The event, which began in 1995 and was held annually between 2004 and 2016, is expected to contribute significantly to the country’s trade and investment landscape.
