In a momentous event for the Guyanese film industry, the one hundred percent Guyanese documentary, “The March Onwards,” was ceremoniously launched at MovieTowne.

This collaborative endeavor, brought to life by REEL Guyana, The Guyana Marine Conservation Society, and the Republic Bank’s “Power to Make a Difference” initiative, promises to be a cultural and environmental milestone.

Annette Arjoon-Martins, the Project Director of the Guyana Marine Conservation Society, shared that the heart of the documentary lies in Region One.

It intricately weaves together the narrative of the region’s burgeoning development, the positive transformations it ushers, and the formidable challenges encountered by the resilient Warrau community.

The documentary paints a vivid picture of various stakeholders who have played pivotal roles in this endeavor, capturing the essence of their contributions to the community.

Notably, the Barima Mora Passage, a significant natural asset, takes center stage in the documentary’s narrative.

Stephen Grell, the Managing Director of Republic Bank, commended the team behind this project for their dedication to preserving Guyanese culture and knowledge.

He underscored the documentary’s role in spotlighting the Barima Mora Passage, emphasizing its significance in the larger context of Guyana’s natural heritage.

“The March Onwards” is set to be available to the public starting October 15, accessible through REEL Guyana’s social media platforms on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
