Guyana’s Squad Announced for Crucial CONCACAF Nations League Clash

The Guyana Football Federation has revealed the 22-member squad set to face the Bahamas in a pivotal match on Saturday, aiming for promotion to League A of the CONCACAF Nations League in the Dominican Republic.

Head Coach Jamaal Shabazz expressed confidence in the selected squad, consisting of two goalkeepers, ten defenders, five midfielders, and five forwards.

Leading the attack will be Omari Glasgow, Guyana’s top goal scorer and the second-highest scorer in League B with six goals.

Shabazz expects a commanding performance from his team against their Caribbean counterparts, emphasizing that their focus is solely on the upcoming game.

Injuries to Reiss Greenidge, Jeremy Garrett, and Elliot Bonds prompted the inclusion of newcomer Osaze DeRosario in the starting eleven.

The selected squad includes goalkeepers Quillan Roberts and Akel Clarke; defenders Curtez Kellman, Jalen Jones, Marcus Wilson, Colin Nelson, Leo Lovell, Raushan Ritch, Liam Gordon, Jonathan Grant, Amos Ramsay, and Marcus Simmons. Midfielders Daniel Wilson, Stephen Duke-McKenna, Nathan Moriah-Welch, Darron Niles, and Ryan Hackett, along with forwards Kadel Daniels, Deon Moore, and Kelsey Benjamin, complete the lineup.

Guyana, currently leading the standings in League B, Group D, has already secured a 3-2 victory over the Bahamas in September.

The team’s three successive wins against Antigua & Barbuda, Puerto Rico, and the Bahamas have positioned them well in the competition.

As the squad prepares for this crucial clash, the nation eagerly anticipates the outcome that could propel them to League A in the CONCACAF Nations League.
