The Athletics Association of Guyana’s National Seniors Championship 2024 held at the National Track and Field Center in Leonora was a testament to exceptional athletic prowess and competitive spirit.

The event featured remarkable performances across various disciplines, with standout achievements by several athletes.

In the women’s 100 meters, Jasmine Abrams dominated the track, clinching victory with a swift time of 11.11 seconds, showcasing her speed and determination.

Juvonna Cornette followed in second place with 11.33 seconds, while Athalayha Hickenson secured third place with an impressive 11.39 seconds.

The men’s 100 meters witnessed a historic moment as Emmanuel Archibald set a new national record with a remarkable time of 10.09 seconds.

His outstanding performance not only earned him the championship but also solidified his place in Guyana’s athletic history.

Noelex Holder and Revon Williams took second and third place, respectively, with times of 10.23 seconds and 10.40 seconds.

In the men’s 400 meters, Malachi Austin showcased his prowess with a commanding performance, clocking in at 47.70 seconds to claim first place.

Simeon Adams followed closely with 48.90 seconds, while Lennox Douglas secured third place with 49.09 seconds.
