Having last competed internationally in the 15-a-side version back in 2019, the team is excited to return to the international stage, with Jamal Angus once again leading as captain.

The squad boasts familiar faces such as Owen Adonis of Police Falcons, along with Panthers players Rondel McArthur, Godfrey Broomes, Lancelot Adonis, Vallon Adams, Makayah Smith, and Daniel Anderson.

Joining them are standout performers Lionel Holder from Police Falcons, alongside Shawn David, James Osborne, Michael Barrow, Odidia Douglas, and Scott Garraway.

Representing the Guyana Defence Force are Osbert Robertson, Kelvin Grant, David Garrett, Sean Phillips, and David Waldron, while Elisha Crawford stands as the lone representative for Caribs.

In addition, the team includes overseas-based athletes like Matthew Talbot, Godfrey Pollydore, and Kevin Braithwaite from the US, and Adam Yhip from Canada.

Guyana Rugby Football Union president Ryan Dey expressed confidence in the team’s preparations, emphasizing the importance of execution in their upcoming matches against Trinidad and Tobago.

Dey highlighted the significance of the RAN tournament, providing the team with opportunities to compete and excel over the coming months.

The tournament will see nations vying for top positions in the south zone, with Guyana commencing their campaign against Trinidad & Tobago in both home and away games.

The first match will be held in Port of Spain on April 27, followed by the return leg in June.

The team is under the guidance of coach Larry Adonis, assistant coach Oslyn Olivier, and manager Petal Adams, all working diligently to ensure the team’s success.

As Guyana’s ‘Green Machine’ gears up for their international challenge, fans eagerly await their performance on the field, hopeful for a victorious campaign.
