Guyana’s Golden Jaguars Triumph Over Belize in World Cup Qualifier

In a crucial match to revive their hopes of advancing in the World Cup Qualifiers, Guyana’s senior men’s football team, the Golden Jaguars, displayed resilience and determination as they secured a convincing 3-1 victory over Belize in Barbados.

The game started cautiously with both teams unable to score in the first half. However, the Golden Jaguars came back strong in the second half.

Deon Moore broke the deadlock in the 66th minute with a decisive strike, followed quickly by Liam Gordon extending the lead to 2-0 just a minute later.

Maintaining their momentum, Moore scored his second goal in the 71st minute, putting Guyana comfortably ahead at 3-0.

Although Belize managed to score a consolation goal through Carlos Garcia in the 88th minute, Guyana held on to secure the win.

With this result, Guyana now turns its attention to the Concacaf Nations League starting in September, where they will face Suriname in Group A.

The team aims to build on their success and continue pursuing international football achievements.

The Golden Jaguars’ next World Cup qualifier is scheduled for 2025, where they hope to continue their impressive performance on the global stage.
