The government introduces a one-off grant for individuals aged 60 and above who haven’t met the minimum contribution requirement for NIS old age pension.
Eligible individuals with contributions ranging from 700 to 749 will have the option to receive a one-off grant, benefiting over 3,800 persons at a cost of $550 million.
To address the impact of the rising cost of living, Budget 2024 includes a $7 billion allocation, subject to citizen consultations for effective expenditure.
Other measures encompass sustained reduction in freight charges, an expanded part-time job program with over $10 billion allocated, and eye care initiatives for school children and pensioners, valued at $1.8 billion.
In response to health challenges, Budget 2024 introduces support for cervical cancer testing, a vital intervention costing approximately $2.8 billion.
