The National under-15 Guyana boys have been diligently preparing at the Malteenoes Sports Club on Thomas Lands for the upcoming Cricket West Indies Rising Stars tournament in Antigua and Barbuda.

Recently, the Guyana Cricket Board announced the squad for the tournament, scheduled to commence on March 24.

Head coach Latchman Yadram expressed satisfaction with the team’s progress, highlighting their commitment during training sessions.

He praised the players for their dedication to improving their skills, with both batters and bowlers showing promise.

Additionally, Yadram emphasized the importance of teamwork and team spirit, noting the positive camaraderie among the players.

Part of the encampment involves fostering cohesion among the squad members. Coach Yadram mentioned the efforts to integrate players from different counties, focusing on building unity and a strong team spirit.

He highlighted the presence of senior players from last year’s team, hoping they would contribute their experience to the squad’s success this year.

Several players shared their thoughts on the team’s readiness for the tournament.

Sohail Mohammed, a wicket-keeper batter, expressed confidence in the team’s abilities and their determination to bring home the trophy.

Captain Adrian Hetmyer echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the team’s goal of clinching the first-place title after securing second place in previous years.
