Guyana U-19 Rugby Team Gains Valuable Experience at RAN 15s Tournament

Guyana’s under-19 rugby team recently participated in the Rugby Americas North (RAN) Men’s U19 15s tournament, marking their return to the competition after a few years’ absence.

The young ruggers faced tough challenges throughout the tournament, but their management team is determined to use these experiences as a foundation for future growth.

Unfortunately, the Guyana U-19 squad has encountered difficulties in the tournament, losing all four matches played so far and not managing to convert a Try. In their recent matchups against Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica, they faced losses of 36-0 and 37-0, respectively.

Looking ahead to the next game, which will determine their position in the tournament, team captain Dakari Martindale spoke about the importance of remaining focused and giving their all in their final match.

Despite the challenging results, the management team believes that the exposure and experience gained in this prestigious tournament will serve as a valuable learning opportunity for the young players. With this foundation, the Guyana U-19 ruggers will continue to strive for improvement and progress in future competitions.

Meanwhile, in the final of the RAN Men’s U19 tournament, Jamaica will take on USA South in what promises to be an exciting clash for the title.
