Guyana U-14 Football Team Suffers Defeat in CFU Challenge Series

The Guyana U-14 National Football Team faced a tough defeat in their second match of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Boys’ Challenge Series on Saturday, losing 6-2 to Barbados at the Larry Gomes Stadium in Trinidad and Tobago.

Despite goals from Nyron Barrow and Jadan Christian, Guyana struggled to mount a comeback after Barbados took an early lead.

Trey Barker of Barbados converted two penalties within the first seven minutes, and teammate Adam King added another penalty in the ninth minute.

Guyana managed to reduce the deficit to 3-2 by halftime, but Barbados’ Jamarco Johnson scored a second-half hat-trick, sealing the 6-2 win.

This loss follows Guyana’s 2-1 defeat to Antigua and Barbuda in their opening match of the tournament.

The team, led by Coach Levi Brathwaite, now faces a challenging road ahead in the tournament as they look to bounce back from consecutive defeats.
