During his visit to St. Lucia, President Dr. Irfaan Ali pledged Guyana’s support for the development of St. Lucia’s Youth Innovation Entrepreneurship program, emphasizing the importance of fostering entrepreneurship and economic empowerment among the youth.
President Ali commended the St. Lucian government for its Youth Rally initiative held in Castries as part of the nation’s 45th Independence anniversary celebrations.
As the island’s chief guest at the event, President Ali underscored the significance of investing in human resources and empowering young people to drive innovation and entrepreneurship.
In his address at the Youth Rally, President Ali articulated the vision for the Youth Innovation Entrepreneurship program, highlighting its potential to create livelihood opportunities, foster entrepreneurship, and build prosperity at the household level.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration between Guyana and St. Lucia to expand the program and nurture a new wave of entrepreneurs.
Furthermore, President Ali urged young people to embrace their history, drawing parallels between the struggles for independence in St. Lucia and Guyana.

During his visit, President Ali engaged with various sectors of St. Lucian society, including addressing the parliament, the Chamber of Commerce, and the youth rally. Additionally, he connected with the Guyanese Diaspora on the island, fostering closer ties between the two nations.
As Guyana commits to supporting St. Lucia’s youth entrepreneurship efforts, the collaboration between the two countries signifies a shared commitment to fostering economic development, youth empowerment, and regional cooperation in the Caribbean.
