The Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF) is set to host a one-off Goodwill tournament from August 24-26, featuring volleyball teams from Trinidad and Tobago competing against local teams.

The event will take place at the National Gymnasium, Georgetown, with teams set to compete across four categories: Under-15 girls, Under-19 girls, and Senior men’s divisions.

Two clubs from Trinidad and Tobago, Glamorgan and Karasu Volleyball Clubs, will participate in the tournament, facing off against combined club teams from Berbice and Demerara.

The tournament aims to provide a competitive platform for local players, many of whom have been actively participating in the GVF league and training programs.

Additionally, the GVF announced that for the upcoming Inter-Guiana Games, Guyana will only be fielding beach volleyball teams for both male and female divisions, limiting competition opportunities for indoor volleyball players this year.

The tournament is expected to attract attention, with a strong focus on female athletes, aiming to foster growth and development in women’s volleyball.

Matches are scheduled to begin daily from 2 p.m. at the National Gymnasium.
