Guyana to Host CAC Bodybuilding Championship in October 2024

Keavon Bess, the Head of the Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, has announced that Guyana will host the Central America and Caribbean (CAC) Bodybuilding Championship in October this year.

After more than a decade, the prestigious regional championship will return to Guyana, with the National Cultural Center chosen as the venue.

Bess mentioned that following an inspection of the venue by CAC officials, arrangements are being made for the event in October.

The country aims to field a formidable team of 40 athletes representing Guyana against their regional counterparts.

Emphasizing the importance of securing sponsors, Bess expressed the federation’s commitment to taking up all available spots for competition to maximize the chances of success.

The logistics plan for the event is currently being finalized, and an inspection report will soon be completed to guide visiting teams not only for the competition but also for tourism throughout the country.

In the previous CAC Bodybuilding Championship in Aruba, Guyana secured an impressive tally of four gold medals, two silver medals, and a bronze medal.

The last time Guyana hosted the CAC championship was in 2004.

The upcoming event in October 2024 is anticipated to showcase the country’s dedication to bodybuilding excellence and provide a platform for regional competition.
