Guyana Squash Association Boys’ Team Gears Up for CASA Championships

The Guyana Squash Association boys’ junior team is hard at work preparing for the upcoming Caribbean junior squash championship in the British Virgin Islands.

Under the leadership of Nicholas Verway, the team engaged in rigorous training at the Georgetown Club on Camp Street.

With the tournament scheduled for June 30 to July 16, the focus is on ensuring that the team is mentally and physically prepared to compete at their best.

Nicholas Verway, the Caribbean junior and National squash champion, shared his perspective on the training session.

He highlighted the competitive environment, with teammates pushing each other to excel.

Verway emphasized the collective goal of the team and the dedication they are putting into their preparations.

As a two-time Caribbean champion, Verway was asked about his strategy to secure a third consecutive victory.

He emphasized the importance of staying sharp and maintaining focus, recognizing the need to consistently perform at his best to achieve success.

Meanwhile, nine-year-old Ethan Bulkan, with the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) exams approaching, remains committed to his squash training.

Bulkan expressed his pride in representing Guyana and his determination to bring home a medal for his country.

With the CASA championships on the horizon, the junior boys will continue their training regimen throughout the week.

As they strive for excellence on the squash court, they carry the hopes and aspirations of their nation with them.
