By Travis Seymour

Guyana’s national rugby team, the Green Machine, is gearing up to face Trinidad and Tobago in an upcoming home game of the Rugby America’s North 15’s event.

The match will take place on Saturday, June 22nd, at the Guyana Defence Force ground.

Lawrence Adonis, the head coach, expressed confidence in the team’s readiness to defend their home ground.

He emphasized their preparedness to secure a victory in the upcoming game.

Adonis highlighted the team’s youthful energy as a positive factor. Jamal Angus, the team captain, echoed this sentiment, praising the talent within the squad.

He specifically mentioned Tyrese Samuels, one of the six overseas-based players, as someone expected to make an immediate impact.

Angus expressed optimism about the team’s potential and looked forward to the support of their fans on game day.

Ansa McAL is the major sponsor for this international game, with additional support from Robert Fernandes.

This match against Trinidad and Tobago marks the return leg of the Green Machine’s Rugby America’s North 15’s championship.

In their previous encounter in April, Guyana secured a narrow victory of 24-23 against Trinidad and Tobago at the Hasley Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain.

The match kicks off at 3:00 PM local time and will be live-streamed on NCN.
