Guyana Police Force Victorious Over Den Amstel in Elite League Season Opener

The Guyana Police Force kicked off their Elite League season with a triumphant performance against Den Amstel on Thursday at the Guyana Football Federation National Training Center.

In the lone match of day 3 in season 6 of the Elite League, the Guyana Police Force clashed with Den Amstel at the Providence ground.

After a slow start, Dorwin George scored the opening goal in the 35th minute, giving Police the lead. Nicholas MacArthur extended the lead in the 64th minute with another goal, making it 2-0.

A late goal from Tyrone Delph secured a convincing 3-0 victory for the Guyana Police Force.

Other teams participating in this year’s league include Western Tigers, Slingerz, Ann’s Grove, Fruta Conquerors, Buxton United, Monedderlust, Santos, and defending champions Guyana Defense Force.

Slingerz began their season with a dominant 7-0 win over Monedderlust FC, while Ann’s Grove surprised Fruta Conquerors with a 3-0 victory.

Defending champions GDF narrowly defeated Santos 2-1 in their opening match on Tuesday.

A total of ninety games are scheduled to be played across various grounds in Georgetown, West Coast Demerara, East Bank Demerara, and Berbice.

In the upcoming matches, Western Tigers will face Ann’s Grove United FC, while defending champions GDF will square off against Buxton United at the GFF National Training Center at Providence.

Matches are scheduled to take place every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, promising plenty of exciting football action for fans throughout the season.
