The Guyana Panthers emerged victorious in the inaugural Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Youth Academy Cup, clinching the title in a dramatic final at the National Training Centre on Sunday.

In an all-Guyanese clash, the Panthers faced off against the Jaguars in a thrilling match.

The game began with some tension, but the Panthers took the lead in the 30th minute with a goal from Neeiaz Baksh.

The Jaguars managed to level the score just before halftime when Rondell Peters scored.

The match proceeded to a penalty shootout to determine the winner.

The Panthers displayed composure under pressure, emerging victorious 4-3 in the shootout.

Team captain Malcolm Hendricks expressed his satisfaction with the win, reflecting on the challenging penalty shootout and the team’s perseverance.
