President of the Guyana Olympic Association, Godfrey Munroe, extended congratulations to all athletes representing Guyana across nine sporting disciplines at the games.

The disciplines included badminton, track and field, e-sport football, boxing, table tennis, archery, swimming, weightlifting, and taekwondo.

Javelin thrower Leslain Baird and sprinter Emmanuel Archibald, who secured bronze medals, received $400,000 each, with their coach Johnny Gravesande receiving $50,000.

Female sprinter Jasmine Abrams, who clinched silver, was awarded $600,000.

President Munroe urged corporate Guyana to provide essential support for top athletes undergoing training for international events.

The GOA’s focus is now on maximizing the performance of top athletes in regional competitions, with six months remaining until the Olympic Games.
