On Wednesday, Ailene Bowman, President of the revived Guyana Netball Association, concluded a month-long introductory camp hosted by her club, Triple A Academy, on the National Park Tarmac.

Bowman, a former netball player, has taken on the challenge of revitalizing the sport following her recent appointment.

She was entrusted with this mission by former President Lavern Fraser, aiming to breathe new life into netball and draw in new talent.

Bowman shared her vision of re-energizing netball, starting with the city and expanding to other regions.

She is keen to involve both genders in the sport, emphasizing that the camp was part of a broader plan to re-engage young players during their summer break.

Having gained valuable experience from a regional training workshop and tournament in St. Lucia, Bowman is now focused on establishing netball programs in schools to build a strong foundation for the sport.
