Travellers arriving at or departing from Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) can now take advantage of electronic immigration forms, designed to reduce congestion and improve the overall passenger experience.

The new system, known as the “Embarkation/Disembarkation” (E/D) form, allows passengers to conveniently fill out their forms online.

By scanning QR codes available at the airport, travellers can interact directly with their airlines and submit the forms to the border management system.

Superintendent Stephen Telford, Deputy Chief Immigration Officer, explained in a live interview on Radio Eve Leary that this upgrade follows the introduction of e-gates at CJIA and is part of a broader effort to enhance efficiency at the airport.

The system is expected to be expanded to all ports of entry across the country in the near future.

Passengers will have access to Wi-Fi at the airport, ensuring they can complete the forms with ease.

Additionally, travellers can fill out the forms before arriving at the airport.

For those who may be unfamiliar with the process, immigration officers and airport staff will be on hand to assist in completing the electronic documents.

The move marks a shift away from traditional hard-copy forms, with a strong emphasis on streamlining and modernizing the travel process for all passengers.
