Guyana Hosts Sixth Annual South American Undiscovered Martial Arts Championship

The anticipation is high as over one hundred martial artists are gearing up to participate in the sixth annual Guyana South American Undiscovered Martial Arts Championship, scheduled for March 30-31st at the National Gymnasium.

The championship was officially launched in the boardroom of the National Sports Commission by the Korean International Martial Arts Guyana. Organizer Roland Eudoxie expressed confidence in the event’s organization, highlighting the participation of teams from Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago.

Eudoxie emphasized the importance of community support in shaping the minds of young martial artists, underscoring the valuable life lessons imparted by the sport.

Competitors will engage in various disciplines, including traditional Kata Forms, Points Sparring, Team Kata, Freestyle, Empty Hand Kata, Weapon Kata, and Team Sparring.

The competition will feature athletes ranging from under 6 to 35 and over, competing in Novice, Intermediate, and Black Belts divisions across all categories.

The event is made possible through sponsorship from the National Sport Commission, Guyana Tourism Authority, Team Mohammed, Starbucks Guyana, Ikon Construction Equipment Sales and Rentals, Guyana Breweries through Smalta, Gupta Group, Hand in Hand, and other generous sponsors.
