The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Caribbean Urological Association (CURA), will host the 26th Annual International Conference in Guyana, marking the first time the event is being held in the country.

The conference, which will run from November 8th to 10th at the Pegasus Suites, aims to enhance the skills of urologists across the Caribbean while focusing on men’s health, particularly prostate cancer.

The event will offer specialized training, educational opportunities, and advocacy for the needs of urologists in the region.

CURA has organized the conference to help address disparities in urology care across the Caribbean.

Many regions have varying levels of expertise, and the conference aims to provide training that will elevate the care available to patients across the region.

The Ministry of Health has recognized the importance of this conference, particularly as prostate cancer continues to be a leading cause of cancer-related deaths in Guyana.

The government has prioritized raising awareness about the disease as part of their health initiatives.

This year’s conference will feature several sessions and discussions aimed at improving patient care, and will include contributions from prominent health professionals in the field.

Dr. Frank Anthony, Guyana’s Minister of Health, is scheduled to deliver one of the keynote addresses.

The Caribbean Urological Association, which was established in 1999, plays a crucial role in advancing urology throughout the region.

The 26th Annual International Conference is expected to provide valuable insight and foster collaboration among urologists to better address the region’s health needs.
