The 50th anniversary of the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha was celebrated with a grand parade and cultural program at the Pandit Reepu Daman Persaud Sanskritik Kendra in Prashad Nagar, Georgetown.
Members of the Hindu community from across the country gathered to commemorate the organization’s significant contributions to Guyana’s economy and culture.
The celebration reflected on the early beginnings of the Sabha and the transformative journey it has undertaken over the past 50 years.
Dr. Vindhya Persaud, who has served as the President of the Sabha for the past ten years, paid a special tribute to her father, the founder of the Sabha, acknowledging his leadership until his passing in 2013.
President Dr. Irfaan Ali, who joined the celebration, praised the Sabha for not only producing religious leaders but also national leaders.
He commended the organization for its strong focus on young people, evident in the vibrant celebration.
